Jeepin’ Up Silver Canyon
On Wednesday afternoon we thought we’d try a shortcut to the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest. This is the place we visited on April 5th.
Though it looks like a short drive on a map, it’s a long climb up — 6000 feet. But as they say, the first 3000 feet is easy, and that’s as far as we got. After an hour of slow driving, we turned back because the last 3000 feet was steep with a lot of switchbacks.
We’ll try it again when we have more time.
Some photos and a video from the trip . . .
Yeah! Way to go Aunt Jan! You did a perfect stream crossing. Are you guys seeing animals during your trip? Keep the pictures coming!
Animals? Just a couple of chipmunks.
You guys look like you’re having a lot of fun. Keep it up, life is short! I’m with Mary on this question…are you seeing any animals? Near or farther away, or does the jeep scare them? And what about reptiles?
Reptiles? Saw a gecko or two, but it’s still kinda cold at elevation. And in the desert, night time is the right time for brother snake.
Way to Go Jeepsters! Jan.. you are a rugged pioneer woman.. Yeah!!
Tom, thanks for keeping us posted on all your adventures.. lovinâ it!
