Prairie Dog State Park — Norton, KS
Another 2 1/2-hour drive on Kansas Highway 36 to Prairie Dog State Park outside Norton, KS. The park sits on the north side of Keith Sebelius Lake which was created by an earth dam. (If the dam ever broke, there goes Norton.)
Though the park office was closed on Saturday afternoon when we arrived, a park ranger checked us in. Great guy. We ended up in Site #40 a pull-through site with Electric and Water service.
There’s a small prairie dog town (hence the park name) near the entrance, so we’ll check it out this Sunday afternoon.
We’re watching the weather near Colorado Springs, CO as we’re scheduled to arrive Tuesday, September, 17th.
Here are some photos . . .
NEXT STOP: Limon KOA, Limon, CO.
