Cheyenne Mountain State Park — Colorado Springs, CO

Made it. Our drive from Limon, CO to Colorado Springs, CO was uneventful except for a wrong turn in downtown Colorado Springs during Lunch Hour rush. My bad.

We arrived at about 1 pm Mountain Time. Elevation = 6427 feet — we (and the dogs) are feeling it.

The park is spectacular — hard to believe it’s “just” a state park as we have 50A full hookups, a concrete pad, a patio, and stellar views of Colorado Springs and Cheyenne Mountain.

We’re here until Friday.

I was wondering what to write about when the police showed up.

Anyway, we drove 4 1/2 hours from Norton, KS to Limon, CO today and arrived at the Limon KOA at about 1 pm.

Our Newmar and Honda CRV toad were covered with road dirt. I was going to wash them, but we have about 80 miles to go tomorrow to Cheyenne Mountain State Park near Colorado Springs.

Which reminds me . . . about those Colorado floods . . . between watching Internet weather and local news stations, it looks like we’re good to go. But we’re going to call the park before taking off.

Finally, about that police car . . . one of the Limon KOA owners said she got the heebie jeebies from one of the campers and called the police to check him out. No shots were fired. It’s all cool, but we’re outta here in the morning.
