Using a Hopper 3 in Your RV
Finally, a relatively easy way to use a DISH Hopper 3 in your RV — DPH42 Switch Option.
Prior to this, I recommended swapping the “head” (LNBF) of a rooftop Winegard Travler which could be problematic at times (see Crazy Ivan).
However, when you add a DPH42 switch to a stock Travler, there are no problems (so far).

Great write-up on using the Hopper 3/DPH42, thanks.
Question: is a solo hub necessary if I’m not using a second (portable) dish? In my research, it’s unclear whether going from the DPH42 to the receiver requires any other component. For reference, I currently have a Dish Travler to a Solo Node to a Hopper 2 with 2 wireless Joeys. Shifting to a DPH42 and power supply to a Hopper 3 with the same 2 wireless Joeys. Thanks in advance, and great blog – extremely helpful!
