Taliesin

Taliesin Panorama – that’s the “Bird walk” on the left (click to enlarge)

We took a 2-hour tour of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Spring Green’s Taliesin and Hillside. We thought a 2-hour tour might be too much, especially since it’s getting warmer outside.

Were we wrong. There was so much to see. Incredible.

Happy 150th Birthday, Frank.

Ooooo.. when I heard you were staying at Spring Green I hoped you would see Taliesin. Your photos provided such intimate glimpses into that beautiful world. Thank you for taking and posting so many. Loved the red signature tile on the building. Recall that you were enchanted with Falling Water.. did you ever get to see it? Hope so. Now.. check out his Wingspread Conference center in Wind Point.. just north of Racine.. then check out his Golden Rondelle.. S.C. Johnson research and the administration buildings in Racine.. splendid. http://www.scjohnson.com/en/company/visiting.aspx

Falling Water was closed for renovations when we were in the area years ago. We hear that it is in pristine condition now. This tour left us in awe.
