Sunset in Peninsula State Park
We’ve been camping in Peninsula State Park since we bought our first RV 10 years ago. The park is one of Door County’s gems with a number of walking and biking trails, beaches, and rugged landscapes.
Our favorite Peninsula State Park campground is Weborg because there are only a handful of sites, some of which have a great view of Lake Michigan and their own “private” beach.

Arrived at North Bayshore County Park on Friday, June 14th and once again rain has followed us here!
This park reminded me of our first camping trips at Bong Recreatonal Area. Lots of families and fun.

We left Lake Pepin on Sunday, June 9, and dropped off the RV at Precision Frame & Alignment in Elk River, MN.
Our Newmar has a Spartan chassis and the front ball joints needed replacing. We’ve know about it for a year, but decided to put it off as long as possible. We also decided to have Koni shock absorbers installed as they’re supposed to enhance drivability.
So we spent Sunday in a Best Western Motel in Monticello, MN. While the king bed was superb, we wanted out ASAP and back into our RV.
As luck would have it, Precision Frame finished Monday afternoon and we were off for Lake Wissota State Park in Chippewa Falls, WI. Can’t say enough for Precision Frame. I gave them a glowing review at RV Service Reviews.

The SeaLand Traveler 511 – Porcelain at Its Best
In every life the rain must fall, and the same holds (no pun intended) for porcelain toilets.
Look what arrived in the mail . . .
After 12 years our SeaLand toilet gave up the ghost. Unlike conventional house heads which us a water trap to cap noxious odors, RV toilets use a valve to hold water.
However, over time the valve seal degrades, the water trap stops holding water, and the seal must be replaced.
To replace the seal, the toilet has to be removed, turned over, and a new valve installed. And there’s no guarantee that it will all work perfectly again.
So . . . I met this guy in our campground who ran an RV service and could get me a brand new SeaLand at cost. (It wasn’t like “Psst, buddy, want to buy a toilet”, but pretty close.)
A week later he arrived with a very heavy new porcelain throne.
Long story short . . . out with the old, in with the new . . . well, I did have to modify some of the old plumbing from the original toilet because RV service guy got the wrong toilet model. Oh, yeah, and then there were the fresh water leaks I had to fix.
But after half a day on my knees, it was all over. Ta da.
