Fond du Lac, WI — Eden KOA

We stopped here on Friday, June 22, for a 2-night stop over on our way to Ottawa Lake State Park.

As luck would have it, we’re in the crosshairs of another Spring storm that’s coming into our area. We can hear the thunder in the distance.

However, during the day on Saturday, Jan did the laundry and I did the grocery shopping. But before I went for food, I stopped by the first house we rented in Fond du Lac in 1976 when we were both high school teachers.

When Jan saw the house photo, she said “They paved the driveway!”

As I remember it, the front window leaked like a sieve and one of the basement walls was collapsing.

Fish Creek, WI — Peninsula State Park

We’ve been camping in Peninsula State Park since we bought our first RV 10 years ago. The park is one of Door County’s gems with a number of walking and biking trails, beaches, and rugged landscapes.

Our favorite Peninsula State Park campground is Weborg because there are only a handful of sites, some of which have a great view of Lake Michigan and their own “private” beach.

North Bayshore County Park — Peshtigo, WI

Arrived at North Bayshore County Park on Friday, June 14th and once again rain has followed us here!
This park reminded me of our first camping trips at Bong Recreatonal Area. Lots of families and fun.

We met Jo, a kindergarten teacher from Oklahoma and her dog Gus.

NEXT STOP: Peninsula State Park, Fish Creek, WI

Lake Wissota State Park (and points between) — Chippewa Falls, WI

We left Lake Pepin on Sunday, June 9, and dropped off the RV at Precision Frame & Alignment in Elk River, MN.

Our Newmar has a Spartan chassis and the front ball joints needed replacing. We’ve know about it for a year, but decided to put it off as long as possible. We also decided to have Koni shock absorbers installed as they’re supposed to enhance drivability.

So we spent Sunday in a Best Western Motel in Monticello, MN. While the king bed was superb, we wanted out ASAP and back into our RV.

As luck would have it, Precision Frame finished Monday afternoon and we were off for Lake Wissota State Park in Chippewa Falls, WI. Can’t say enough for Precision Frame. I gave them a glowing review at RV Service Reviews.
